THAT WILL LEAVE A MARK: Compassion for People

Genesis 18 by Art Stansberry
Series:That Will Leave A Mark

This Sunday we will learn that in order to leave a legacy that will far outlast our lives, we need to have compassion for others. In Genesis 18, God shares with Abraham the sinfulness that is taking place in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Apparently things had gotten so bad that the Lord was forced into grievous action. As Abraham hears the news, he begins to plead for the lives of the people in these two cities. In Genesis 18:24-25 Abraham says to the Lord, "What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing-to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?" This Sunday we will discuss the need to leave behind a legacy of compassion.
