Members Only: Being a Praying Member

Acts 1 by Art Stansberry
Series:Members Only

We see in scripture that Jesus instilled within His disciples the importance of prayer. They had watched and heard Jesus pray and were so impressed that they asked Him to teach them to pray. After Jesus had ascended into heaven Acts 1:13-14 tells us, "When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers." We even see that Apostle Paul encourages the church to "pray without ceasing." As a member of the body of Christ, we have been called to be "praying members." This Sunday we will unpack how to pray and why prayer is vitally important.
