Passage: Ephesians 6:10-20       Series Prepared
Description: This Sunday we will begin a new sermon series centered around ourpreparedness for spiritual warfare. The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 6:12-13, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God,so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." Paul uses this word "stand" several times in this passage, which is a military term for holding onto a position. This Sunday, what we will discover is that Paul is encouraging us to stand our ground against the spiritual attacks that are sure to come from Satan and how we can best hold our ground against such a determined enemy.

Passage: Hebrews 12:1-2       Series One of One
Description: This Sunday we will look at someone who really is "One of One." Jesus was perfect in everything: He followed the Father flawlessly; He taught with perfect authority; and He became the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Hebrews 12:1-2 says, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." So this Sunday, as we celebrate the resurrection of our perfect Savior, we will be reminded to fix our eyes on the Him who really is "One of One."-

Passage: Hebrews 11:24       Series One of One
Description: This Sunday we will continue our "One of One" series by looking at Moses. What we will discover is that Moses is one of one, because he chose God's Kingdom over the kingdom of the world. Moses is one of one because he chose to please the Lord, even if it meant losing his own life. Finally, we will learn that Moses is one of one because he chose to trust the Lord for his salvation and communicated that salvation to others. So join us this Sunday as we strive to be one of one in this world.

Passage: Luke 14:25       Series The Cost of Discipleship
Description: In Luke 14, Jesus turns to the crowd and invites them to count the cost of being His disciple. Jesus draws a parallel between a person who builds a tower to one who would follow Him. He says in verse 28, " For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost. This Sunday as we close out this sermon series we will look at the payout of following Jesus. What we will discover is that when we follow Jesus, we will come to know Him on a much deeper level, we will reign with Him in His kingdom, and we will live with Him in eternity.

Passage: Matthew 10:37       Series The Cost of Discipleship
Description: This Sunday we will continue to count the cost of discipleship. Jesus said in Matthew 10:39, "Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it." As we follow Jesus in this adventure to make disciples, we will discover that we must be willing to give up everything that we cherish in order to make disciples and focus on the people that God cherishes. But the incredible thing is that when we give up the things we are holding onto (the things that come between the Lord and us) that we actually gain more than we originally had in the first place. So when it's all said and done, what we will unpack this Sunday is that making disciples is well worth the cost.

Passage: Acts 1:8       Series The Cost of Discipleship
Description: This Sunday we will begin a brand new sermon series entitled, "The Cost of Discipleship." If you are a follower of Christ, then you are called and commissioned by Jesus to "Go and Make Disciples", according to Matthew 28. But there is a cost to discipleship, and over the next three weeks we will consider the cost of reaching people for Christ. This Sunday we will focus on the invitation that Jesus extends to us in being disciple-makers. In Acts 1:8 Jesus tells His followers, just before He ascends into heaven - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We have been invited to be His witnesses, His ambassadors in Jerusalem. What we will discover is that our "Jerusalem" is right here in our local community and that we have been called to reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Join us this Sunday as we walk alongside Jesus, learn from Him, and consider the cost of reaching our Jerusalem.

Passage: 2 Peter 1:5       Series Full Life
Description: This Sunday we will wrap up our sermon series from 2 Peter 1:5-8. The Apostle Peter saves the best quality for the end of his list when he mentions that we need to add to our faith, love. Jesus said in John 13:34, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." The Apostle John writes in 1 John 3:16, " This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters." We see in scripture that God is love and our job as believers in Christ is to display that love, so that others can know God. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:2, "If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing." Love is an essential quality for every follower of Christ. This Sunday we will key-in on the importance of love and how it can literally change the world.

Passage: 2 Peter 1:5       Series Full Life
Description: The Apostle Peter writes, "For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith . . . brotherly kindness." The literal Greek word that he uses in this passage for brotherly kindness is Philadelphia, from which we know is the city of brotherly love. This Sunday we will learn how we can develop this extremely important quality by studying the Apostle Peter's earlier letter. In 1 Peter 3:8 he writes, "Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble." What we will discover is that in order to develop brotherly kindness, we need to focus on unity, sympathy, love, compassion, and humility. Join us this Sunday as we study what it means to add to our faith brotherly kindness and how this can impact not only our faith, but the potential faith of others.
