Prepared: Faith

Ephesians 6:10-16 by Art Stansberry

This Sunday we will unpack Paul's analogy of the Shield of Faith. In Ephesians 6:16 Paul writes, "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." Our active faith, that James wrote about in his letter (James 2:14), can save us from the direct attacks of the enemy. These attacks can come in the form of fears, temptations, and even trials of life. However, Paul plainly says that our faith in Jesus Christ and in His power has the ability to not just defend us from such attacks, but can "extinguish" these attacks. So this Sunday we will discover the importance of faith and how we can build and strengthen our faith for the battles ahead.
