Passage: Psalms 139:13-16
Description: This Sunday we will revisit the Bible points that our children are learning this week during VBS. We will unpack what it means to be forged and fashioned by God. In Psalm 139:14 David writes, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Just as David was forged for a purpose, this Sunday we will learn that each of us was created and shaped by God for His glory and for His purpose.

Passage: John 13:12-17       Series COMMUNITY
Description: This Sunday we will finish our sermon series centered on unity. We will unpack the importance that sacrifice plays in attaining and maintaining unity in the church. We will focus on John 13, where Jesus washes the feet of his disciples. It is in this lowliest act of service that Jesus teaches us, not just about service, but the importance of sacrifice.

Passage: Ephesians 4:1-6       Series COMMUNITY
Description: This past Sunday we unpacked the importance that love plays in our unity to one another. This week we will look at Ephesians 4, where Paul urges us to put our love into action. In Ephesians 4:2-3 Paul writes, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." In order to have unity, we must put forth the effort to serve one another, and so this Sunday we will focus on the power that the Lord has given us to serve the body of Christ and how this fosters unity.

Passage: John 13:34-35       Series COMMUNITY
Description: This Sunday we will unpack further this idea of unity. What we will discover is that love is at the core of a unified church. Jesus said in John 13:34-35. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." At first, this idea of love being key to unity makes complete sense; and yet, we find it difficult at times to implement. So join us this Sunday as we examine how we can truly love one another.

Passage: Acts 2:42-47       Series COMMUNITY
Description: In John 17 Jesus is in the garden praying for the unity of all believers, which is interesting, considering that his disciples had been arguing about who was the greatest not too long before. And so in verses 20-21, Jesus prays for his disciples and then prays for us by saying, "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me." This Sunday we will begin a journey to discover what Jesus meant by unity, how the early church was able to capture it, and how we can regain unity within the church today.

Passage: Luke 16:19-31       Series INEVITABLE
Description: Jesus gives us a sneak-peek into hell with His parable of the "Rich Man and Lazarus" in Luke chapter sixteen. What we will discover this week is that hell is a very real place. In fact, Jesus taught more about hell than He ever did about heaven. Jesus says in Mark 9:48 that hell is the place where 'the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.' This Sunday we will identify what hell is like and how to avoid this dreadful place.

Passage: Matthew 13:24-30       Series INEVITABLE
Description: We began this sermon series reading from Hebrews 9:27, where the writer says, "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." This Sunday we will unpack what the writer meant when he spoke of "Judgment". What we will discover is that there are separated judgments: one for the believer and one for the unbeliever. Our hope this Sunday is not to leave you with a heavy heart, but that we might be encouraged by what we read in scripture concerning judgment. I am reminded of Paul's words in Romans 6:4, "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." We will discover how our belief, repentance, confession of Jesus, and our baptism can give us confidence as we face the coming judgment.

Passage: Hebrews 9:27       Series INEVITABLE
Description: Most of the world religions agree that life will continue, in some manner, after we die. We might not agree on where or even how, but most religions concur that there is more to life than this life. In Hebrews 9:27 we are told "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." In this series we are going to look at what scripture has to say about heaven, hell, and the coming judgment. This Sunday we will look at heaven and see what the Bible says about this mysterious place.

  Series Empty
Description: This Sunday we will unpack the simple Gospel message that because Jesus rose from the grave, we have new life in Him. In John 10, as Jesus addressed the Pharisees, Jesus said in verse 17-18, "The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again." With these words Jesus predicted His death, burial, and resurrection, and the empty tomb proves to us that Jesus really is the Christ. Ultimately what we will learn is that life is truly empty without Jesus, but with Him we have abundant life. So join us this Sunday as we celebrate a resurrected Savior and be sure to invite as many as you can to join you.

Passage: Ecclesiastes 4:4-8       Series Empty
Description: We are busy, too busy! And we run from place to place, doing and toiling and striving, but what does it get us? Do we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor? Without God, all our work can still leave life meaningless; working so that we can have stuff, with the hope of one day owning even more stuff. As Solomon says, all of this striving is like "chasing after the wind". In Colossians 3:23 Paul says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters". This Sunday we will learn that when we realize that our work is our ministry, that God wants us to view our occupation/career in a whole different light, it can make our work worthwhile as we work and serve the Lord.
