Passage: Matthew 22:39-40       Series Mission
Description: This past Sunday we started a new sermon series, focusing on the mission Christ has given to all His followers. We find this mission tucked away in the two Greatest Commandments and the Great Commission. This Sunday we will highlight the second part of the mission, which is to love people. Jesus said in Matthew 22:39, " . . . Love your neighbor as yourself." This is a tall order. So how do we complete this part of the mission? What we will discover this Sunday is that real love is supernatural and first requires a relationship with the Lord; we will also learn that real love is sacrificial; and, finally, we will find out that real love shines bright in a dark world. So join us this Sunday as, together, we learn how to love people.

Passage: Matthew 22:34       Series Mission
Description: We will be launching out into a new series this Sunday entitled, "Mission." Over the next three weeks, we will highlight the mission that we are to be on as followers of Christ. In Matthew 22:34-40, we see Jesus zero-in on the two most important tasks that we can undertake: loving God and loving people. This Sunday we will look at the importance of loving God and what it means to love Him with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind.

Passage: Luke 15:11-20       Series Give Me One
Description: Jay Wright, Elder and long-time member, will be preaching this Sunday! (Art will be at Antioch Christian Church preaching at their Homecoming Service.) In last Sunday's sermon, Art spoke about the parables of the lost sheep (1 out of 99) and the lost coin (1 out of 10). Jay will pick up with the parable of the prodigal son (1 out of 2) - and how the "older brother" was affected by his younger brother's return.

Passage: Luke 15:1-10       Series Give Me One
Description: This past Sunday we discussed how Jesus died for everyone. This Sunday we will discover how Jesus was willing to reach anyone; especially those that were on the outside looking in. He encountered one such person while at a well in the region of Samaria. This woman had long been written off by the religious leaders and even people in her own village. But J esus tells this woman in John 4:13-14, "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." What we will learn this Sunday is that anyone can come to Christ and never be spiritually thirsty again.
Date: Sunday, May 08, 2016       Teacher: Rajan Ipe
Description: We are really excited to have Rajan Ipe and his wife Reni from Kerala Christian Mission join us this Sunday. Rajan is not just a missionary, but, in our minds, he is family - a Mount Carmel Minister serving in Kerala, India. Rajan will be bringing us the Word this week and we look forward to hearing what God has in store for us through him.

Passage: John 3:1-21       Series Give Me One
Description: This Sunday we will launch out on a new sermon series that we are calling, "Give Me One." In this sermon series, we will explore just who this "One" is that we are supposed to reach. What we will discover is that the Lord wants to reach everyone. Jesus clearly tells us that the Father has made a way for everyone to come to Him. Look at what Jesus tells Nicodemus in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Unfortunately, we understand that the reality is that not everyone will accept Christ, but we have directive to reach anyone we can for the Lord. This is why we pray for one, hoping, watching, and waiting for an opportunity to reach someone. So join us this Sunday as we learn how to reach one.

Passage: Acts 2:42-47       Series JUST SIMPLE
Description: This Sunday we will look at the simple plan or the simple model that the early church followed. This plan was really the blueprint that Jesus left behind on how to make disciples. Luke describes this plan in Acts 2:42 by saying, "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." As we catch Christ's vision to seek and save the lost, and as we prepare our hearts to speak the simple gospel message, we also will focus on how important it is to put into place His simple plan for the church.

Passage: Acts 2:1       Series JUST SIMPLE
Description: This Sunday we will unpack Acts chapter two and see how the Holy Spirit worked through the Apostles to deliver the simple gospel message. What we will learn is that we don't have to have a prepared and detailed sermon to reach our one person for Christ. This Sunday we will discover that the Holy Spirit preps the soil to receive the message, He uses our preparation and time spent in the word, and He is the one who will use the message to impact the heart. Join us this Sunday as we learn that the process and the message is just simple.

Passage: Acts 1:1-11       Series JUST SIMPLE
Description: This Sunday we will begin to unpack the simple vision that our Lord gave to us in Acts 1:8. In this passage, Jesus said to his disciples, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." In this statement Jesus was giving his apostles, and he was giving us, the simple vision of what being a disciple of Jesus looks like. Too many times we try to complicate Christianity and our role, when in reality it's just simple. We are disciples of Jesus, followers of his; we are required to work toward the vision that he left behind for us. And this vision, Jesus said, was to "seek and save the lost." So join us this Sunday as we unpack the simple vision of Jesus.
